Regime Contemporary is proud to announce the debut art exhibition The Kaplan Twins dubbed "Wonderland: An Art Exhibition From The Kaplan Twins" at the Mayfair Hotel (1256 W 7th St) in Los Angeles, CA opening October 24th, 2019 and running through November 8th. The collection is a series of oil-paintings that spoof on the social media in which they are embedded. The pieces riff off of millennial tropes like Tinder, nudes, and Bitcoin, to call out the absurdity of it all using NSFW oil paintings as their platform.

Allie & Lexi Kaplan, better known to the internet as The Kaplan Twins are professionally trained studio artists, influencers and TV personalities. They are most notably known for their conversation-starting artwork such as their nude depictions of personalities like Kim Kardashian West, Emily Ratajkowski and Amber Rose, and can currently be seen on Season 3 of MTV’s “Ex On The Beach.” The series, which airs Tuesdays at 8/7c, follows a group of famous singles as they head to a tropical island for a chance at love, but are greeted by their former flames. During 2018, Allie & Lexi were featured on Season 1 of Netflix’s “INST@FAMOUS” which shares the stories of self-made social media stars and how they built their empire. The Kaplan Twins art explores the complexities of today’s celebrity culture and comments on it through the eyes of their millennial generation. Their goal is to create a conversation while breaking through societal cliches and taboos, and looking at today’s media headlines through a different lens. Working as a duo, they attended NYU graduating in 2015, Allie with a BFA in Fine Art with a concentration in painting and a Minor in Art History, and Lexi with a BFA in Fine Art with a concentration in painting. Their work has been featured in Vanity Fair, Flaunt Magazine, W Magazine, Teen Vogue, Galore Magazine, Instyle, Playboy, and Elle China among others.
